The work of the BC Treaty Commission in advocating for First Nations rights and facilitating treaty negotiations is crucial. Our tech solutions have streamlined their communication processes, allowing them to focus on their essential role of promoting understanding and cooperation among governments and indigenous communities in British Columbia.
We developed the BC Treaty Commission’s website to enhance transparency and educate visitors about treaty negotiations between BC’s First Nation communities and the government. The backend was designed for ease of use, incorporating ACF dynamic fields that allow the Commission to update vital information such as document PDFs, completion dates, commissioner contact details, and relationships linking nation information effortlessly.
A custom-developed interactive map was created specifically for the BCTC team, adhering strictly to their needs and requests. This feature allows users to explore the locations of First Nations across BC and access detailed information about negotiation status and other relevant data directly from the map.
To maintain the BCTC’s identity, we collaborated closely with their team and designers to incorporate branding and First Nation art throughout the site. This ensured that the website not only functions effectively but also reflects the rich cultural heritage of the communities it represents.
